BBQ Booking Request
APPLICATION FORM FOR SMALL BARBEQUE EVENTS IN ELVYN RICHARDS HALL AND LOAN OF FIRE PROTECTION EQUIPMENT AND BARBEQUE EQUIPMENT
1.Barbeque events in Elvyn Richards Hall must only take place using the brick built bbq situated by the subwarden flat in Court 5. Small events, up to a maximum of 20 persons and held during the wardening team’s duty hours, will be approved by the warden on a first-come-first-served basis. Larger events, or those taking place outside the wardening team’s duty hours, must be approved through the university’s Health and Safety Office as additional fire safety precautions may need to be taken.
2.BBQ equipment will be loaned to the designated party leader who will be responsible for arranging the collection and return of the equipment with the warden.
3.The equipment must be returned in good condition and ready for the next group to use (ie it must be clean and the fire safety equipment unused).
4.If the fire safety equipment has been used for the purpose for which it was issued then no charge will be made to replenish it. A full report of any fire incident should be made immediately it occurs to the wardening team. Any other accidents should also be reported to the wardening team. The designated party leader is expected to identify the duty and backup subwardens and their contact numbers before the event starts.
5.It is expected that the group will collect all rubbish from the bbq area at the end of their event including the cold ashes from the extinguished bbq. Any music played should be kept to a reasonable level so as not to disturb students in nearby blocks.
6.Failure to adhere to all of the above conditions, could result in charges and fines being made against the designated party leader.
